Hey, you…yes, you. You've just set up your first ecommerce store, but now what? 🤔
Maybe it was an impulse decision, a New Year’s resolution, or maybe it was the culmination of years of hesitation or careful planning, but now the fizz is fizzling out, and you don’t know what to do.
Let me help you...
It was only when handling the D2C store for my company and connecting one-on-one with other Shopify store owners, that I realized that something I loved doing - building and scaling e-commerce websites - was also something that others feared most. And let me tell you one thing that's the most important thing to keep in mind - it's what you do AFTER your ecommerce website launches that really matters.
In 3 minutes, I can ease that trepidation and show you how simple it can be. So save this post and take your notes so we get your first sale. 📌
But first a few things before we really make that 1 to 100 leap:
•Have you really thought about your product and who you’re selling to?
•If you have, have you submitted your product feed to Google Merchant or other channels? Once set up, your product should show up when your buyer searches for it (check out the 1st pic if you're confused).
Now,
1.Karan and Arjun of Marketing:: In marketing, there are two basic strategies companies use - differentiation and cost leadership. Stuffy words, so let me break it down.
•Differentiation - If your product or service is unique, model your ecommerce website to showcase that USP. Make people really need it. Sell water to a fish, sell time to a clock and now, you can sell your product to your audience.
•Cost leadership - Sometimes people don’t want the fanciest phone, or the snazziest watch, so Hammer down on this point. Play on a hidden feature, or use pricing to set you apart from the rest, just like Hammer did with its own watches.
2.Face the book to book your new clients : If there’s one advice I’d give to new shop owners and anyone looking to make a break, it’s “be shameless”. Don’t let your thumb hover over the send button, PRESS IT. Send it to your family and friends, because one thing you can always count on them for is their support. So, be the Spokesperson for your brand and build a following.🗣️
3.What came first - the email or the social? Regardless, utlitize e-mail to reach a larger following. Offer value to your customers by providing them coupons, discounts and maybe even blogs curated for them. Be like Smytten to get your audience smitten. Here's one of my favourites 👇
4.Let SEO give you wings: Promoting your new website on social media and email may get you started, but Google truly is a goldmine in terms of visibility. That’s why getting your site’s SEO right is such a big deal. More traffic means more potential sales and leads for your new ecommerce website.
Yes. It may seem like a lot. But follow these 4 steps for now, and if you want to win consistently with your new e-commerce store, then be sure to follow this page for future tips.🏆
