Project Title: Math Course Production for BYJU’S (Featuring Professor Edward B. Burger)

Overview:

This project involved leading the production of a large-scale math video course for BYJU’S, created in collaboration with Professor Edward B. Burger—a leading mathematician and educator. The goal was to build a visually engaging and pedagogically sound library of math videos for students in the U.S., spanning lower school to middle school topics.

Creating over 100 hours of content with a team of 100+ people, this project was a deep dive into educational storytelling, visual learning, and consistent execution at scale.

Background:

BYJU’S aimed to expand its U.S. offerings by launching a math companion platform featuring Professor Burger. The course content needed to simplify complex math concepts and deliver them through immersive visual experiences that students and parents could trust and enjoy.

Objective:

To produce a high-volume video course that:

• Transforms green screen footage into a branded, structured visual format

• Uses storytelling and animations to simplify complex math topics

• Maintains consistency across hundreds of videos

• Engages students across different learning levels

Approach:

• Video Logging: Logged and cleaned up all raw footage to remove unnecessary segments and improve clarity.

• Storyboarding: Built visual scripts for each module to guide animations, on-screen text, and key highlights.

• Template Design: Created a reusable editing template featuring:

  • Half-screen layouts for visual balance

  • Clear text boxes for key takeaways

  • Structured highlights and transitions

  • Branded backgrounds and consistent tone

• Team Guidelines: Documented editing standards and workflows to coordinate output across a large post-production team.

• Editing & Review: Used Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro to deliver high-quality, engaging final videos at scale.

Outcome:

• Successfully launched over 100 hours of content for BYJU’S Math Companion

• Videos received strong engagement and feedback on both the BYJU’S platform and YouTube

• Parents praised the clarity; students appreciated the storytelling and visuals

• Internal workflows became more efficient due to strong process documentation and templating

This was one of the most rewarding large-scale educational video projects I’ve worked on—challenging both in scope and execution, but incredibly fulfilling in its impact on young learners.
